I'm so glad it was there when you needed to read it, darling. And that's it, exactly--when I think of applying those standards to someone else, it just becomes so clear how ridiculous they are. It's not just that they're unrealistic, it's that I genuinely wouldn't even think of them when thinking about a friend.
