Yup, pretty much. It's particularly staggering in a discipline where, you know, you'd think they'd think thoughts, seeing as how they portray themselves as being All About the Thoughts, right? I mean, philosophy, I thought it was about thinking. But then I say that, and remember that philosophy has been keeping the white men in power for a good long time now (if you want to read a GOOD philosopher, Evelyn Fox Keller has been my bastion of sanity for the four weeks that I have endured of this class--she's a scientist turned philosopher, so she talks about the natural sciences and she is amazing).

The what now? Seriously? That's worse than the idiot I mentioned above, who dated one of my closest friends (she has dumped his ass at this point, thankfully). I've known her since I was six, and yet it was somehow appropriate to ask me to join them in bed. (That evening also included him waxing loudly about the bartender's breasts, at which point I told him to shut up, apologized to her, and told him he was being an asshole.) But what?
