I waver a lot over my bandom OTP *points to icon*, precisely because of the reasons you outline here. What's my favorite - Ray/Bob or Bob/Brian? I tend to land in the Ray/Bob camp, right up to the moment that someone posts something marvelous like this post.
The obvious solution - smush it into OT3, of course. :D As threesomes are more fun, and hopefully the combined forces of competence would balance out the collective workaholic or stupid risk-taking tendencies. But I digress. :D
I think the history piece is why I love Brian/Bob so much. It's so apparent in how they *are* with one another - and half-disgruntled, half-fond sums that dynamic up really well. I love that they have job commonality before the band, that they had a working relationship well-established before Bob Saved the Day and Became a Drum God Full-Time.
My favorite B/B moment? The clip of Bob TP-ing Times Square and how he yells for Brian. I know, random. But it makes me gleeface every time.
Questions... does 'tell me more about the girls please' qualify here? I can put it in the form of a question if need be. AU-wise... I want more B/B [or OT3 *coughs*] Space Opera. Because it obviously exists in Epic arcs in a mirror Universe. Also I think there's not enough Old West MCR AU action going on. AND I would read PI Noir AUs with the pair of them until the end of time. Literally.
