First, the not-so-serious part of this entry: I haven't seen Harry Potter yet, and I really really want to but work is really busy and my friends want to do other boring things. Therefore I will take my gift card this weekend and go by myself.

Until then, please indulge my Harry Potter cravings and sort me!

I don't celebrate Thanksgiving, for obvious reasons. But I do like this, I like the part where you think about what you're thankful for, because (right now) it's easy and it's joyful, particularly in the November darkness.

1. My family. Always and forever.


2. My job, because I no longer panic at the thought of being at one place for longer than a month without it involving research.


3. You guys, because there are times when the only way I know people will take the right things for granted that I need taken for granted are on here.


4. My cat, because he does things like fall asleep in the middle of washing himself and it's just so gosh-darned cute.


5. My relative health, because one year ago I was really sick and I am doing so much better.


6. Every day that the people I love get to be safe and hale and healthy. Or at least a reasonable approximation of the three.


7. The roof over my head.


8. My imagination. Sometimes I think that's what I'm most grateful for, because there are worlds in my head and I am so glad they're there.

You've reminded me I ought to work on the epic panbandom-in-the-Harry-Potter-verse AU I started thinking about TWO SUMMERS AGO. Augh, I am so bad at getting things done.
