Scratch Your Name: Fanmix 2

The Music in You, a mix by [livejournal.com profile] astaria51

Aaaaah, oh god. The first time I listened to this mix, I was heading down into the subway, and suddenly I hear Geoff Rickly sing "In the shadow of the New York skyline, we grew up too fast" and I just froze (to the annoyance of many people behind me) and started smiling so hard. Because, yes. Exactly that, that's my story. (There's so much that resonates with me lyrically in this mix and in [livejournal.com profile] sweetnovicane's, and I'm probably going to post some babble on that soonish, because lyrics are so, so, so important to me when I listen to music. So my mixes were both amazing for me.)

Also, the cover art? *grins helplessly* I just--I want to know if my mixer drew it or where they found it or what--it's, I mean, it's like it's from the story.

YAY! I'm so glad you liked this - I was stressing out about it, because I like the story so much, and it was so fun to mix, but I kind of secondguess myself a lot ;)

I felt like War All The Time fit really well, so I'm glad that really hit home. (I'm secretly glad Thursday didn't get into the "list of approved bandom bands", haha: it made mixing easier.)

The cover art is Photoshop craziness :D I really wanted to do something that looked like graffiti, so I tracked down a set of downloadable shapes that were "jumping" silhouettes and then found some brick stock and the rest is just brushes and the paint can. I'm glad you like it!

:D I really did like the mix lots, and I'm so glad to hear the story was fun to mix.

Oh man, it was ridiculously perfect--and oh man, me too, because that meant I got both the Hush Sound and Thursday.

*beams* It was pretty damn awesome.
