*sadface*

What is today, seriously. I woke up to my stomach going, no, when you thought you'd managed to travel without getting fucked up, guess what, you were WRONG. And then I find out Brian Schechter left the music business? Not on, universe. Kitty's exam had better go brilliantly, is all I'm saying.

I'm currently on her couch contemplating a lot of Bob/Brian AUs because honestly, they're always going to be my favorite non-canon pairing (my favorite canon one is Chantal/Jimmy, but that's a little scary to contemplate right now, given that they apparently both read fic, wtf). You're all asleep, or I'd tell you to come play with me. Stupid time difference.

Anyway, love, love, you guys exist and my view here is fairly spectacular, so.

*joins you in sadfacing* The universe is not in my good graces at the moment.

Bob/Brian AUs are always the way to go. It's getting to the point where I'm considering digging out my stalled High School and College AU WIPs and seeing if they're really as bad as I remember.

*clings* wtf, seriously. BRIAN.

You should so so do that. I'm sure they're not! That's the one where Brian was an RA, right? I have so much RA lore I could supply you with, you have no idea. Also, if Bob is his resident they technically aren't supposed to date. Perfect setup for pining, seriously.

Other options include: the one suggested by [livejournal.com profile] colouredmango, in which Brian works in construction and housepainting with the Waybrothers and they do renovations for the club where Bob works...

If I wasn't writing it for you, I'd send you the one I'm working on.

I read this and originally found the idea of either of the Way brothers wielding a hammer slightly terrifying. But then I thought about it, and I could see Gerard utilizing one pretty well in a "make strange art by destroying stuff and putting it together in a new way". And Mikey likes to put together furniture, and he kind of strikes me as the dude you see on the crew who you never actually see constructing anything, but you leave and come back and he's the only one who's been there and a ton of shit has been done. Seeing Brian having to figure out having to work with them would be funny. :)

I feel like this would be an awesome set-up for a comedy, right? Gerard plans out what they do, and him and Mikey do it while Brian keeps track of them and make sure there are a minimum of incidents where either of them trip over ladders or put their feet in paint buckets or, you know. Poor Brian. And then, to make matters worse, the sound manager at the club they're renovating is really, really hot. Goddammit.

Also, there's the one where Bob is a single dad and Brian is a kindergarten teacher who has the most well-organized class of six-year-olds ever seen.

Or the one where Bob is a climbing instructor that has to get a new job at the resort where he works because of his wrists, and Brian is the hotel manager who needs to figure out what Bob can do instead. (Also includes the rest of MCR in various ridiculous jobs.)

Or the one where Brian is an overworked businessman who falls for that guy he saw on the train once.

Exactly, yes, RA!Brian can't date resident!Bob and there is pining except they're them, so it's very stoic, unacknowledged pining. And Brian has his Oulook calendar set up to count down the weeks until Bob is no longer his resident. Y'know, just in case.

Oh! I want the Brian kindergarten teacher one! (Well, okay, I want all the ones you just listed, but especially that one!) Gerard could be a neurotic parent and Lindsey has to go in every now and then and stop him trying to sit on the mats with Bandit because seriously, Gee, she's doing fine.

You're writing this, right? Tell me you're writing this! There could be--let's see, ridiculous incidents Brian has to deal with could include the kid tanning a deer in the basement (don't ask where he got it; the boys of Panic having a seriously faily pot-smoking/drinking party where they randomly open the door during rounds and the smell is so goddamn obvious, Brian has to bust them; the incredibly intense break-up drama of Pete/Alicia/Mikey, whom have all been dating each other in different configurations; Gabe or someone else getting very, very high off of shrooms and running around naked...

Yeah, that all happened. Except to different people. And then Brian keeps finding Bob just being around, helping out. OR doing really dumb shit (possibly to get Brian's attention).

Hmm, well I have something crazy like 16000 words of it saved in my WIPs folder so I probably should see if there's anything salvageable in there. Yay, I was going to email you to see if you had any suggests for crazy things that happen to RAs and you do!

Yes, yes you should. Definitely. Most definitely. *tries to look convincing*

I have a lot more stories if you need them--you probably want the sort-of-everyday-but-still-crazy stories too.
