I can't decide whether I'm feeling whimsical or mopey today. A bit of both? A meme, anyway. Love poems in fifteen words, last seen in [livejournal.com profile] kickingrad's journal. This is the one I posted over there:

Walk the horizon ending with me,
steal my breath, tip me
headfirst into the ocean.

But when it's poetry, it's hard to stop at fifteen.

Like this:

Trees shaking, bending low. I turn
my face up, up, meeting the storm.

Or like this:

Folded, your wings stay safe
in my linen closet. I pick up
stray feathers, silver.

No, actually:

Letting go is like giving up,
is like all the songs
going silent at once.

But the first one is still my favorite, I think.

Ah, pillow:

I am comforted
by your warm embrace;

Never leave me.

I'm limiting myself to just three, or else I'll be doing this all day. :)

1. The last time
we shared a bed,
we slept back to back,
touching only accidentally.

2. I found your name
scribbled in a book,
and remembered everything
I'd forgotten to say.

3. The difference between
getting lost
and losing our way
was the detour in your smile.

15 words is not a lot of words :(

Dirty floors; bright, hazy exhaustion; dried tear-tracks.
I shake, coming down.
Port Authority at midnight.

I stand by the poem I posted in [livejournal.com profile] ignips's LJ:

My jacket
slouches shoulders
kitty-corner into
your absence.

The table longs for two cups.

And yeah, I agree with you about the first one, but I'm also very fond of the last.

Hi! I'm T. and I hope you don't mind if I friend you? I'd been meaning to for a while now, but the following comment over in [livejournal.com profile] mahoni's journal won me over completely:

I'm also considering rewatching BTVS, writing about Bob Bryar hating Christmas, and actually making progress on my original poetry (I have a lot of it, it's not bad, but it needs epic editing.)

I love everything about that sentence. :)
