So there was supposed to be a story. But we're writing and editing this other story that is pushing 40K and is supposed to be done very soon, so the first story isn't done yet. Sorry about that. ♥

I did want to tell you happy birthday, and how glad I am that we found each other, telepathic-feminist-thinky-weird-pairing-loving sister of my writing soul. (I told you I was going to get sappy. Deal with it.) Love, darling. I hope today continued to be great and I hope many more great days are yet to come. And I can't wait to meet you.

here, have a poem )

You are too lovely; my family is too lovely; it was a weird roller coaster of a day (I always feel weird about birthdays) and it's mostly over now, and everyone has been so nice. A post that actually thanks people properly is forthcoming, for now just know I love you so much, each and everyone of you. Thank you. ♥

It's [livejournal.com profile] thesamefire's birthday.

There's a point where sappy public posts are the easiest thing in the world to write because someone is important and wonderful and the world should know, and then there's the next level, where you have absolutely no idea where to even start.

out of the woods (and into the picture with me) )

So according to my time zone, it's just barely beginning to be [livejournal.com profile] blindmouse's birthday in my part of the world. I'm naturally very excited about that, and very happy to have some slow, slow internet I can coax into behaving for long enough that I can wish you a very happy birthday indeed, my darling. You're one of those people I'm immensely grateful to have found, and I plan to keep clinging to you for a good while yet. See, because you're brilliant, and you're one of the best writers I know, but most of all I just love, love, love talking to you about writing and why we love it and why it's the best thing out of all good things in the world. I love you lots, dearest. Lots and lots and lots.

Also, I once wrote you a story, and I swear I didn't mean to write a sequel, but it appears I am. So, like, have the first bits? And have a wonderful, wonderful day.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] airgiodslv! You're an incredibly wonderful sort of gal, darling, so so sweet and supportive and bright and such a fantastic writer and—I'm just glad you're in my life, okay? I meant to have fic, but I wrote Bob/Brian h/c in lieu of all the other things I was meant to write this week, so here, have a drabble set in the same verse as that story I wrote for you, accompanied by your favorite icon of mine:

home with you )

Because I am a faily, faily person, this birthday post is just barely a little late. [livejournal.com profile] strange_bt_true will hopefully forgive me for this.

My darling, I just wanted to say I hope you had the happiest of birthdays. I hope there was good food and good people, and I want so much for this coming year to be a good one for you. You're amazing, so stubborn and bright in all the best of ways (is it possible to miss someone you've never met? because sometimes I think I miss you), and I'm so so glad we internet-met.

Now tell me to write something. Or to post pictures of kittens. Or find you good vegetarian recipes. It's cheating to make you tell me what to do for you, but really, I want it to be something good. And love, always.

So there are TWO birthdays today. There's [livejournal.com profile] brilligspoons, who was one of my first friends on LJ. I love you hon, and I hope you have a fantastic day! I still remember that long, long discussion we had on feminist literature way back when, it was GREAT. Also, I love that you indulge my love of poetry. Speaking of which, here, have a poem:

Fully Empowered, by Pablo Neruda )

But it's also [livejournal.com profile] halflinen's birthday! Megan, oh Megan. One half of my Canadian OTP, she's been there during some tough, tough times for me and, just, she's supportive and sweet and amazing and funny and posts awesome recipes and writes lovely stories--I just, okay, I'm so glad she's in my life. Happy birthday, lady, I feel confident that it's going to be a good one. ♥

And since I can't be there, dammit, have a kitty and some story recs )

[livejournal.com profile] unlurkster has a birthday today! That sounds like she has more than one (it's possible I didn't sleep much last night). Anyway, she happens to be someone I've had coffee with and breakfast with in real life, and she is lovely and bright and hilarious and I MISS HER. SIAN. Tell me to write something and I will WRITE IT. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU.

Darling birthday girl, have the best of days, okay?
