Yes, I know, that's a really interesting combination of requests you just received. I'm honestly seriously excited about getting any story in any of these fandoms, so please don't stress (I mean, unless you really want to—stress tends to be part of my writing process, but I don't wish that on anyone else) if the story you think of is completely different than the prompts I left. You should write a story you're happy with, that's more important than anything else.
Likes (in no particular order): the ladies; femslash; het with non-traditional dynamics; slash; gen; explosions; h/c that is about one character fixing themselves while receiving the support they need; stories where people grow up and figure themselves out; cuddling; happy endings that have been worked for; love; good dialogue; magical realism; comedy; whimsy; stories that hurt but are hopeful; action/adventure stories (especially if they have cuddling); violence; best friends falling in love; threesomes.
Dislikes: stories where no hope can be found; sexual assault as a trope (I've been known to read survivor!fic, but I'd really rather have it not happen at all); or other graphic descriptions of violence against helpless women; bashing of canon het pairings; bleak endings; women being defined entirely by who they're dating. OH. And I have an embarrassment squick.
Fame (1980 Movie)
For Montgomery, I'd kind of really like the story where Montgomery actually gets a romance. An awkward, sometimes really difficult romance, but a romance, still. Which can be with anyone you want, pretty much, and it can certainly be with two people. But I'd also love gen about him (feel free to include other students here). As far as Coco goes, I'd love gen, anything gen, as long as she makes it and remains herself. (No sexual assault, please.) Or you could write Coco/Bruno when they're still at school, because I love their adorable faces and that would be a WONDERFUL story if it existed.
I just kind of love these characters a hell of a whole lot. I would love anything you think of involving these three or any combination of them, honestly—like I said, gen or pairing fic—I mean, if you work out how to get the three of them together, that works too! I also love how smart the movie was about sexism and racism and a whole host of issues--they're all serious and real, here, and people don't fit into any kind of mold. This is also what makes me believe in the students as future artists--it's difficult to make art if you're taught to make it only in a certain way.
The Umbrella Academy
I want Rumor gen. What you do with that is up to you, I just want more of her story—she is arguably the most powerful one of the lot, and she's just so interesting (and I love her). So this could be coming-of-age, it could be her as an adult, it could be long or short, include her siblings or not; I just want more of her.
I love this universe. I think the writing is smart, the dialogue is hilarious and great, the plots are interesting and surprising and wonderful in that kind of sharp way that really gets to you. And there's violence, I sort of really like violence when it's done right. I know the request said gen, but if you want to write her with someone, that's okay too! Also, in terms of violence—there's a fair amount of blood and action in this canon, and that is completely fine. If Rumor gets in a fight, I can definitely handle that, because she can get herself out, you know?
RPF – The Like
Femslash. Really, that's the most important part of this. I like it when girls fall in love and it doesn't end in TRAGEDY, or in going back to heterosexuality (oh, pop culture). I don't mind things getting serious or angsty (though avoid sexual assault, please), but I need a bit of hope in my endings. I'd love AUs or canon-based fic here.
And again, I say femslash, but if you're not comfortable writing that, it's totally fine. I'd love a gen story about them as space pirates too. Or a Buffy crossover. Or, um, them in a circus. Or something. Anything! Have fun! These girls are so delightful, seriously. Also, I'd like it if the main ship was in the band, if there is a ship at all. There are a lot of people I could bother into writing me fic about the peripheral boys who are friends with the Like--I have no problem with those boys, I just really want a story about these girls.
Astrid Lindgren – Ronia, the Robber's Daughter
Teenage romance! Fumblings and confusion and all that fun stuff. Or perhaps the story of when they take over the leadership of the robbers even though they don't want to.
Okay, for this one? I love the world Lindgren creates, with the magic and the robbers and the forest and everything. I also love the people, the way they fuck up and love each other anyway and keep going, the way family works, everything. So whatever you come up with, oh man, if I get more stories in this world, I will be the happiest girl ever.
