I am so incredibly delighted that you are writing about Ryan and Z and Tennessee, I can't even express it. And yes, I agree, the Spencer-Ryan dynamic is always about Ryan being a fuckup and a flake, and I love that here being a fuckup and a flake doesn't mean that he doesn't take care of his friends as much as he's taken care of.

I cannot get the image of Lyn-Z the sk8ter girl out of my head. With, like, ripped jeans and scuffed converse and a red scarf around her elbow, board tucked under her hand at the top of the jump as she turns to laugh down at Spencer. Possibly Spencer finds skateboards horrifying. All that cement! All of Lyn-Z's scrapes and scarred knees! Snowboarding is not exactly a safe sport, but at least you fall on fucking snow.
