HI. Sorry it took so long to write my letter! It's been kind of excessively crazy around these parts, mostly on the work front. Which is clearly why I'm spending my last half hour writing this letter to you. Ahem.

FIRST, let me tell you that I honestly, honestly mean it when I say I will be happy with anything. Check through my recs tag on this journal and you will find everything from XMFC gen about hugs, a quietly badass and irritable lady undercover cop who plays drums, a college fic where everyone is hilarious and adorable and the lead girl eventually finds love, a gen story about a magical house (I also wrote a magical house story, come to think of it). Really and truly, write the story you want to write, and I will be the happiest.

Likes (in no particular order): alternate universes; crossovers; the ladies; boys who are adorable about each other; het with non-traditional dynamics; slash and femslash; gen; explosions; h/c that is about one character fixing themselves while receiving the support they need; stories where people grow up and figure themselves out; cuddling; happy endings that have been worked for; love; good dialogue; magical realism; comedy; whimsy; stories that hurt but are hopeful; action/adventure stories (especially if they have cuddling); violence; best friends falling in love; threesomes.

Dislikes: stories where no hope can be found; sexual assault as a trope (I've been known to read survivor!fic, but I'd really rather have it not happen at all); or other graphic descriptions of violence against helpless women; bashing of canon het pairings; bleak endings; women being defined entirely by who they're dating. OH. And I have an embarrassment squick.

Fandom-specific:

Alice (2009):

I meant what I said in my signup--I adore these characters and this verse made me wonderfully happy. Alice is awesome, the Hatter is just the kind of character I always end up falling for, Jack Heart and the Duchess had this arranged-marriage-but-oh-wait-do-they-actually-like-each-other thing going that I liked too, and anything involving them, whether it's a new adventure or a falling-in-love story or the story of how the Hatter found his way to Alice's door or something entirely different (maybe Alice is a Slayer? I don't even know)--I'll love it.

Enchantment Emporium - Tanya Huff

So I did say I liked awesome ladies and action and magic, yes? And friendships and hugging and--yeah. These books, oh my god. The cheerful queerness and the rock-solid friendship/relationship/bond between Aly and Charlie and the individual awesomeness of those two, well. Honestly. If this is what we matched on, you're all good. Go crazy. I also really like Graham and Jack! And the Aunties, obviously.

The Hour

This show, ugh, the writing and the people and their intentness about news and language and the gender issues and the relationship between Bel and Freddie and Lix, oh, Lix. Seriously, I'm well aware that I sound like a broken record when it comes to these fandoms, but I really really do love them all, and this show, I haven't been quite this happy about a TV-show since forever and ever. So. Whether you want to write about any of these characters pre-The Hour, or if you want to write about Bel and Freddie, or if you want to investigate gender issues in England in the fifties, or write the fic where Bel is actually Susan Pevensie, do it. Whatever you want.
