I'm back from the cottage and the holiday of subtle fertility symbolism--for the record, I did no frog-hopping this year, but we walked all over, went biking, picked seven kinds of flowers and put them underneath our pillows (tradition--it's supposed to make you dream of your intended), got quite drunk and had excellent food. And then I dreamed about a friend of my sister's, which was not on, so I told my sister about it when she called me the next day, and that should cancel it out. Hopefully.

I'm a stage kid; we're terribly superstitious.

But that was not the point of this post at all. You might have noticed me posting a story last week? WELL. I came home to find out [livejournal.com profile] absenteye had made me art!!! AWESOME ART. Art that is supposed to be Lindsey's art from the story! Oh my GOD, you guys, I love it so.

The Music in You is Dead

I mean, she took the description of the artwork from the beginning of the story and made it an actual piece. I keep looking at it and beaming, because yeah, exactly, exactly like that. Look at Steve's face! And Greta, nothing but light and glow. And there's red everywhere and a falling silhouette, and I love it ridiculously, ridiculously. *flaps hands* I want to write thoughtful meta about her choices here, and the way the colors work, but much like with [livejournal.com profile] tuesdaysgone's piece, I'm reduced to helpless beaming. I love you, darling girl.

OH MY GOD, HOW DID I MISS THIS POST? AHHHH, YOU ARE AMAZING! I am so so so glad you liked it! I don't even know how to express my love for the fic, seriously, it kind of possessed me (in a goooooood way) and the description of the art was so evocative and powerful I wanted to see it, so I tried! It didn't really turn out the way it looked in my head, because in my mind it was this great swirl of colors that was so tied up with how I felt about the fic, and just. Idk. I tried to make it feel at least a little like that, and because it's the kind of art that has to be done quickly and secretly I tried to make it simple and symbolic, like Lindsey would have needed it to be. UH. Can you tell I am kind of ridiculously in loooooooove with you?

Also ahahahahha, I once dreamed about rolling around with cows, and even though I am a fan of Pete Wentz, I am pretty sure I'm never marrying a cow! I have also dreamed about my cousin (twice) and a bald man. FUCK YOU MAGICAL FLOWERS, SERIOUSLY. I'm glad you had a good time, though!

Liked it is NOT SUFFICIENT. *beams* It's so great that you could take my paltry description of Lindsey's art and make THAT. It is simple and symbolic like I wanted it to be, and Steve is better than I imagined. Also, I love the little strand of glitter in Greta's hair. PS. It is so very mutual, the love, so very mutual.

>:( Stupid flowers. It was a really weird dream, too--we were trying to escape right-wing extremists/nazis and running away from them and I had to find him. WEIRD.

she's so goddamn amazing, i'm still in awe. and as for the context, it's a piece of (very thematically important) art described in my big bang, but believe me when i say i could never ever have imagined something this good. never.
