Dearest Yuletide writer!

Apologies in advance for what might be a very excitable letter. I'm VERY EXCITED, you see. FIRST: you are already my favorite person, because you love something that I love very much, and I will absolutely and truly adore anything that you come up with for any of these fandoms. I have been known to write and read anything from very cuddly gen to long stories about revolutionaries to magical realism to cross-dressing porn. Write the story you want to write, is what I'm saying. Feel free to ignore all my excitable ramblings.

Some things I like in no particular order: alternate universes; crossovers; ladies; boys who are adorable about each other; het with non-traditional dynamics; slash and femslash; gen; explosions; h/c that is about one character fixing themselves while receiving the support they need; cuddling; magical realism; whimsy; stories that hurt but ultimately are hopeful; action/adventure; violence; best friends falling in love; threesomes. Porn is welcome, but not required at all. Gen is awesome. Genderswap is great, serious stories are great, comedy is great.

Some things I am less fond of: non-con or dubious consent; major character death (unless it already happens in the canon); endings that lack hope; bashing of canon het pairings or female characters (any characters, really, but especially the female ones); beastiality.

I don't necessarily go for pure fluff (I like the endings to feel deserved), but I don't like it when things are devoid of hope. In general, I would say that I prefer a happy ending-- or at least, an ending that's no darker than one these canons would have anyway.

But honestly (again), I promise: write the story you want to write, and I will love it. I really hope you have fun.

Some fandom-specific stuff:

Emelan - Tamora Pierce:

I adore these books. ADORE THEM. I adore the "found families" aspect, I love the way they're friends and they fight and they take care of each other when it matters most, and I love the way their magic works and the fact that they're so different from each other but work together so well. I'd take anything from a story where Briar and Sandry get together or Daja finds a girlfriend or one of them (or all of them) discovers something new about their magic or cuddling gen or an adventure where they have to stop invaders again or--yes. I also adore the teachers (Lark, Rosethorn and the rest), so if you're struck by a plot bunny involving Rosethorn as a young student and her and Lark's first meeting, that would ALSO be okay. Really.

Dude, basically anything. I just really love how they interact and how they deal with new things and how they are just the best, okay, I'm unable to be rational about these books and these characters. I could, for example, absolutely be convinced that they're all slowly falling in love with each other, because this is an OT4 if there ever was one. And like I said above, if you decide you'd rather write about the teachers (Crane/Rosethorn and Lark/Rosethorn really does deserve a story at some point), that's also great. Anything is great. You could ignore everything I've said and write about Sandry and her uncle, or create an OC who is just starting at the school, and I'll be thrilled. Promise. *bounces*

Henry IV Part 1 - Shakespeare

Good god, this play. If we matched on this I'll be so happy. The Hotspur-and-Harry relationship is just--I may have imprinted on it a little, seeing as how I first read it when I was twelve and they're very very intense about one another. That being said, I have a lot of feelings about Kate, so if you write something set during the time of the play, I'd love it if she didn't get sidelined, because she matters to me and she matters to Hotspur, if that makes sense. But really, I'd be happy with just about anything, up to and including a modern college AU where they're at each others' throats about a sports rivalry, or something, so go wild.

Again, oh god, anything. I adore Shakespeare (I caused my mother a lot of consternation when she found me reading through the plays at 12, and she carefully stole King Lear from under my nose because she thought it was a little bloody) and I read the histories despite not knowing who any of them were (English kings weren't covered all that well in Sweden) and Harry and Hotspur, oh man. The way they feel about each other--yes. Anything dealing with them will make me so happy, but I'll also be thrilled if you want to write the modern AU of when Kate goes off to do volunteer work somewhere and meets a very very attractive and hotheaded boy by the name of Harry. Or she could not meet any boy at all and just be awesome by herself. Gen is great. An AU of the play where Hotspur doesn't die would also be great. OR A MAGICAL AU. Really and truly, write what you want to write (I'm sorry I keep harping on that but I just can't overstate how much I love this play and how happy I would be were I to receive a story for this fandom).

Lynburn Legacy - Sarah Rees Brennan

OH THIS BOOK. I finished it about three hours after getting it in the mail, and promptly started it all over again. I ship Rusty with EVERYONE and Angela/Holly delights me so much, I can't even deal. Best unexpected pairing. Honestly, anything will make me happy (I keep saying that, but I swear it's true). If you want to explore the universe further, write about Angela and Holly figuring out how they work together while the town is overrun by witches, deal with Rusty and Angela's childhood or Holly's background or--yes.

As I'm sure you've picked up on by now, I have a lot of feelings about books and characters in books that I love. Unspoken was one of those books that I just fell for from page 1 and there are so many bits of it that just made me incredibly happy. The dialogue! The families! Kami is a fantastic narrator (I know I didn't request her, but I want to make sure you know I love her too) and oh-my-heart-someone-cuddle-Jared and everyone in this book is just, oh god, I love them so much. Do what you will, I will adore it. I requested the three characters I did because I'd prefer that the story be centered on them, but I do also love everyone else. A lot.

If you need any more details or prompts or anything, feel free to leave me an anonymous comment here (I THINK I've managed to enable them). Have fun! I can't even tell you how excited I am.
