I'm stealing a meme from [livejournal.com profile] colouredmango (who is borrowing my brain for the evening, btw, and has promised to feed and care for it properly--no, don't ask) and [livejournal.com profile] liketheroad.

Ask me about a pairing I have written (or haven't and you think I should write) and I will give you five facts about them or a ficlet or a song that is CLEARLY THEIR SONG or their wedding china pattern, etc etc! Let's say this one is any fandom/band/etc that you can reasonably assume that I'm familiar with, yeah? Familiar meaning, you know, having heard of them.

This is canon-esque, or, well, they all live in Neil's house in Minnesota, and they work mainly in art and writing, though they join forces to make music in a group they call the Mindless Chemical Dolls.

This is their china pattern, because they all had to come to a sort of compromise about color and kept not agreeing (Gerard wanted black, Lyn-Z wanted something with red, which Amanda sort of agreed to, because blood is always fun, and Neil wanted skeletons), when finally Neil's daughters gave up on them all and bought them this one.

It's weird, the way they work, because four people should be impossible, let alone four people who are artistic and sometimes high-strung and often in need of support. And it's true that when all of them are inspired at the same time, fighting over studio space and forgetting to eat and demanding attention and critique, sometimes it does get kind of impossible.

But when Gerard storms off, Neil or Lyn-Z will eventually follow him, drawing him out with good-natured jokes (or sex), and when Lyn-Z goes a little nuts because she's been blocked for weeks, okay, weeks, Amanda will pin her down and bite her way up Lyn-Z's thighs, licking until she's quieted down and then gotten loud again. And Neil can nearly always be distracted from his artistic woes by any of the other three starting to make out in the room. Amanda is actually the most difficult one to draw out, because her insecurities run so deep, but mostly they've learned to pile on her and tell her, "Hey, hey, we love you, we're here," until she hears them.

Amanda and Lyn-Z actually got together first--they went to the same art school before Amanda dropped out to do street performances, and at that first seminar, when they were paired up to do a collage out of some wrapping paper, an old Cosmo and some glitter, Amanda fell in love forever when Lyn-Z pulled a sharpie out of her pocket and started outlining the angels on the wrapping paper in black.

They met Gerard when he (very nervously) asked to draw them, because he had this project--and they both thought he was about to ask them to pose nude, because at that point they were really open about being together and guys tended to think it was Really Hot. But no, he wanted to do something involving lots of draped black fabrics and fake blood. It was really ridiculous, but they said yes, and then Lyn-Z couldn't help herself, leaning over and kissing him when he absently said Amanda was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in real life.

Neil met them when he was their professor. He certainly didn't mean to get in the middle of that, but, well. Ooops.

Oh man, you know I have a million more questions about this verse now, right? How did Gerard respond? How did Amanda respond?

What was Neil teaching them?

You can keep asking, I definitely don't mind! As long as you don't mind getting weird rambling disguised as answers to those questions, man.

Gerard blushed, of course, turned beet-red and pulled away, trying to ask what Lyn-Z was doing, but Amanda laughed, brightly and clearly and said, "Oh, I want to see this, I want--" so Lyn-Z kissed Gerard again and again, and then Amanda pulled them both down on the floor where she'd been posing.

Neil was co-teaching Writing Comics together with an artist, and it was fairly quickly clear to him that, damn, those two girls and their boy, were absolutely the most talented people in the class. And goddammit, he found them all seriously attractive.

THAT WOULD BE REALLY AWKWARD :DDD

But I am feeling sort of sorry for Gerard, now. He didn't know what was going on! Or what it meant! Or whether they were going to skip out the door at the end and go back to being amazing and bound up with each other and that would be it forever!

Yes it would, wouldn't it. Neil is seriously bothered by the whole thing, absolutely. And distracted. Fuck.

It's true! I mean, okay, don't feel too sorry for him, he was having sex with Lyn-Z and Amanda, which, hnnngh, but you're right, he didn't know where it was going, and they sort of forgot to tell him at first. Well, it took them a week to talk to each other about why they were dragging him around everywhere, and then another week to talk to Gerard and figure out whether he really wanted this or just thought they were hot. At that point, he stammered something about them being wonderful, even though they steal his coffee and yell and have Opinions about art, and could they maybe finish that thing they started yesterday, the collage? And then Lyn-Z laughed and said, "Gee," and he blushed and said, "Right, relationship talk, I can stay on track." "No you can't," Amanda said, "but we like that."

Feel free to keep asking questions, bb, it appears I can write about them forever. Them's good prompts, the ones that just keep going, right?

You have no sense of self-preservation, my dear ♥

Okay, tell me who was the first one to notice Neil back?

And tell me about when Mikey learned about Amanda and Lindsey? And tell me what's going on with Mikey in this 'verse?
