This is oddly appropriate for my first entry: I've been dithering about making it for a few days (it's like a new notebook, you know? That first page that seems too clean to write on?) But here I am, about to write an (short) entry on two of my fannish obsessions at once.
Here's the thing: my obsession with Dylan predates almost all of my fannish obsessions ever. I was twelve the first time I heard his songs and started reading his lyrics. For the longest time, I titled all my poems with Dylan quotes (still do, sometimes--I can't help but prefer his metaphors over mine). And Desolation Row? The song that is a place and a narrative and a poem? *hearts*
And then there's MCR. The band with the vampires, the gore, the rock and the drive that I completely fell for over the last year, somewhere between Gerard being earnest and Toro being talented and Bob being BOB and, and, FRANKANDMIKEY. Their cover of my favorite song means that I have the poetry and the attitude and the music that I love in the SAME PLACE, and I just don't know what to do with myself. I CANNOT DEAL, you guys. CANNOT DEAL.
I'm going to rewatch the video again and again and again and, yeah. MORE FLAILING TO COME. PROBABLY EMBARRASSINGLY LENGTHY FLAILING, TOO. I'M JUST SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, SO HAPPY.
