Breaking hiatus to mention something important.
Trigger warning.
The British woman Samantha Orobator is in jail in Laos awaiting trial for drug charges. She has become pregnant since she arrived in prison and her friends and family all say she has absolutely no history of being involved in drugs in any way. Whether the charges are true or not, she's facing possible death by firing squad. The trial is tentatively scheduled for next week. More information here. Blog about it if you can, or twitter it, or something. Her case has received very, very little coverage. She happens to be black. I wonder whether that has anything to do with it?
