harborshoreSummer is officially here and I have five days off from work due to two holidays happening around a weekend. I may have a cold (I can't hear anything), but I am most pleased. So, a prompts post (it's been a while).
Theme: summer. Music festivals, archipelagos, the sea, starry nights, ice cream, you name it. I want a pairing and a summery setting, and if you want, a prompt. Wacky crossovers are welcome as always, and you know what I write, I think. (Or, I should say, anything you've seen me write or be fannishly excited about is fair game, as is original fic.)

She looks momentarily guilty. "Sorry, I--"
He waves her off. "I don't mind, you know that. I actually meant for you."
Her mouth quirks. "You thought it would me more relaxing for me to fall into the water a few times?"
He grins. "Well, I didn't actually plan for you to fall in, you know."
"I know," she says. "I managed that all by myself." She looks at him, considering, then carefully slides onto his lap, making the canoe wobble. She has that I'm-up-to-something look, but she's also on his lap, which is a little distracting, so Bob ought to be forgiven for not paying enough attention to realize what she was up to.
When he's spitting out river water and mock-glaring at his not-at-all-penitent girlfriend, he reflects that at least he's gotten her to unwind. Now if he can just keep her out here for a couple of more hours, she'll be much more able to tackle the upcoming week of midterms and surveillance and what Bob is pretty sure is at least two enormous extra-credit assignments.

Jepha cackled from beneath the hat on his face. "Having fun, Robert?"
"Shut up," Bob said, hunching into his hoodie.
"You should take that off," Mikey said. He was in a t-shirt and jeans, but he'd taken his shoes off as a concession to the sweltering heat. Bob didn't think he'd ever seen Mikey's feet before.
"It's fine," he said. It was fine. Sure, it was a little warm, but whatever.
"Here's the thing, Robert," Jepha said, expertly avoiding Bob's slap. "The thing, it is this: Brian's here."
Bob swallowed. "So what?" he said.
Jepha looked at him expectantly. Mikey looked amused (meaning one corner of his mouth quirked upward; whatever, Bob knew how to read him).
"So what?" he said again, ducking his head.
"So you think he's totally hot," Jepha said.
Bob shook his head in automatic denial.
Mikey sighed. "You suck at this, Jepha," he said, and turned to Bob. "We know you like Brian. And we think Brian likes you, because he's always staring. Also, we told him you'd be here."
Bob noted absently that he had never heard Mikey say quite that many words before, and then he noticed that Jepha was texting someone. Mind making the logical leap, he lunged for Jepha's phone only to fall on his face when Jepha pulled it out of the way.
Spitting out sand, he looked up.
"Hi, Brian," Mikey said.
Bob hated his friends.
